Welcome to my Blogging Resource page!
On this page, you will find various links to lots of blogging resources that I have found along my blogging journey. I’m going to be very transparent with you and say that I have not used all of these resources, unless I say otherwise. I have noted the ones I have used in the past or am currently using though. These are all resources that I have researched for my own purposes and found great reviews for them. I chose the resources I use for my own reasons, and expect that you would do your own research and choose your best fit as well. Also if you want to see a bit of my story and the first 10 steps I took to break into the blogging world, check this post out.
***This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a little money, as a referral fee, if you make a purchase using any of the links, however your price remains the same. See my full disclosure here.
Web Hosting
After a lot of research I settled on SiteGround for my web hosting. If you’ve been considering starting your own blog or already have WordPressIt’s super cheap for you first year, in comparison, at $3.95 per month for their cheapest plan. I have personally found that their customer service and website reliability and speed is amazing! I haven’t had any “web-site down” issues at all. One of the biggest reasons I went with SiteGround is because they met the small checklist of current needs, and I have the ability to grow and expand overtime. My current plan will meet my needs for quite a while, without any issues or need to upgrade. Oh … and they have really great reviews out there in internet land if you look for them. I’m loving my new website and you could start one of your own before the night is out! 🙂
Bluehost is another popular web hosting service. If you look, you will find A LOT of people pushing them. There are good reviews and actually, some bad as well, just like anything else. It really is up to you and what you envision for the future, and what you need from your site provider. They have a special hosting package that gets your new hosting needs met for $3.95 per month. That’s about the price of a cup of coffee. They also provide lots of opportunity to grow your blog as your audience and needs grow too! They are a great choice to check out for yourself. Even though I went with Siteground, I wanted to list Bluehost because it is a major one that a lot of other bloggers promote for their own reasons. Plus, I would always encourage you to do your own research before making a decision like that.
Of course there is Wix.com which you can start for FREE! They have easy-to-use website builder tools that are so helpful in creating the website of your dreams. They even have a basic $5 a month plan that allows you to connect your own domain name, all the way up to more sophisticated plans with lots of bells and whistles. It’s definitely worth a look when you are comparison shopping. It’s also a great option for beginners who just want to test the waters of blogging before investing too much money because it has the ability to grow with you. I have used Wix in the past, many, many years ago for building my very first website. It was super, easy to use, just drag and drop… coming from someone who new nothing about building a website at the time. Weebly is another good option, too. They also offer a free website plan, as well as a variety of paid plans.
My Website Theme
My absolute most favorite addition to this website is Elegant Themes. The name is even pretty! 🙂 When I first started this blog, I had no clue what I was doing. Every blogger I found claimed I could start my own WordPress blog in 15 minutes or less! As if! Sure you can get one up online, but then to make it look like anything the least bit presentable was hours upon hours and weeks of maneuvering, learning, tweaking, making mistakes, etc. I had NO CLUE what I was doing or how to make it look fantastic. Then I found Elegant Themes and I fell in love. Really. This happened! The Divi Theme is what I use, but they have a ton of beautiful themes. Divi is amazing though! It’s essentially drag and drop. I love it!
