Counseling for Individuals

If you are located in the state of Georgia, we can work together!

I’m ready and excited about the opportunity of working with you and to get a better understanding of where you are in your life and how I may be able to help you meet your life goals. I believe you are the expert at your own life. Why do I think that?

The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 1:3, that “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”

I want to help you unlock that knowledge and understanding and give you the tools you need so you can live a fulfilling, purposeful, and successful life.

Counseling for Couples

I love to work with couples!

I want to help you take your “okay” relationship and give you the tools you need to make it a great relationship. Even if you are struggling with communication, or conflict right now, but you both really want to work on understanding each other, repairing the relationship, and moving forward, I can help you with that too.

One of my passions is marriage, without a doubt. I’ve had over 30 years of personal experience in mine, in addition to my education. Let me be the first to say, that relationships are HARD WORK!

I love to use an assessment by Prepare-Enrich.  I love the way it identifies strength and growth areas, as well as helps couples come to a better understanding of their relationship dynamics. It focuses in on levels of agreement in the following topics: communication and conflict resolution, finances, faith, family and friends, personality, expectations, roles, parenting, and many more. If you want to find out more about Prepare-Enrich, get all the research and the details on their website.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from Counseling from a Christian perspective?

With Counseling based in a Christian perspective, while I don’t inflict my views on you, you have the opportunity to utilize prayer and the Bible as a foundational truth in counseling.

It is an opportunity to incorporate an element of faith into your life and struggles that you are experiencing.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

My goal is to provide the best possible service to you so that you can meet all of your goals. I put a lot of time and effort into our sessions, and behind the scenes too. With that said, there are no refunds on completed sessions. Unfortunately, there is not a one-size-fits-all counselor so if you don’t feel like I’m a good fit for you, that’s okay. Let’s talk.

Booking sessions and paying for sessions at the time of booking commits both of us to be at the scheduled appointment. Thankfully, with the convenience of the internet, it makes it easier to make scheduled appointments without as many interruptions or cancellations. Know that when you schedule an appointment with me, as soon as it pops up in my calendar, I put that time aside and block it out, along with 20 minutes on either side of that appointment. If you agree to it, you will receive courtesy reminders through text and/or email so there is less of a chance of forgetting the appointment, as well as the fact that you have already paid for the session which further commits you.

I also understand that with the convenience of technology, there are also the occasional glitches of technology that are uncontrolled by any of us. If technology were to interfere with our scheduled time, we would likely need to reschedule that appointment in that case. If that occurs, we will try our best to reschedule within the same week.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellation notices are required 24 hours in advance in order to apply your full session payment to your next scheduled appointment. If canceled within 24 hours from our appointment time, you will be responsible for a $0 last-minute cancellation fee.

How do the video sessions and messaging work online?

Due to state licensure requirements, you have to be located in the state of Georgia for us to work together. Thanks to technology today, we can use video, or phone for our sessions. If you have ever used Skype or Facetime, it’s similar. The video platform that I use is also encrypted, HIPAA-compliant, and confidential. After setting up a free 20-minute consult with me, and setting up your account, then you can finalize your session purchase. Afterwards, you will then be taken to a calendar screen to schedule your session with me. You will receive a reminder email with a link and log-in instructions, or a phone number to call. When it’s time for your appointment, just go to the web address and log in with your provided log-in credentials. I’ll meet you there. It’s real-time so I can meet you anywhere!

Messaging is only used intermittently, if necessary to update or provide accountability. If messaging between sessions requires more than 10 minutes, we should probably discuss more therapy time.

Are our interactions confidential?

I do my very best to provide you with a safe, quiet, and confidential environment online. The platforms I use for our interactions are completely encrypted and therefore, as confidential as possible. When we have our video chats, I will always be alone in a private office and will not be interrupted during our conversations. Any printed paperwork or notes are always kept behind double locks in a safe and secure location. Any digital data is kept password protected. This includes data that is on my computer as well.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept any form of insurance. There are many restrictions when using insurance. They can restrict the number of sessions and have the ability to audit our therapy. They require me to diagnose the client which stays in the client’s record forever. There are times that they refuse payments as well.

After you pay for your session in full, I can give you a superbill upon request. You may be able to get a portion of what you pay for therapy back by filing it directly with your insurance company. Be aware that they will see me as an out-of-network provider and will still require a diagnosis on the superbill.

What form of payment do you accept?

Payment processing on my website is done through Stripe. You do not have to have a Stripe account in order to pay for a session. You can pay with Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover, as well as your bank debit cards.

I can also accept many HSA or FSA cards as well.
