Have you ever struggled with something that was so difficult that it caused you to pause and think about if you were going to be able to get through this struggle and still love and trust God? I have. This is a series about how my faith in God grew during the loss of our firstborn son.

I have told the story so many times in the last 25 years and I know now that God was growing me and my family in a way that I never imagined. I never saw it, when we were in the middle of the heartbreak.

If you are going through a struggle right now that feels hopeless, dear friend, I’m going to tell you to hang in there. God isn’t finished with your story yet. He’s not finished with you yet. Sweet friend, you will get through this struggle.

I love to use the analogy of a storm cloud because when you are in the middle of the biggest storm of your life, even though you can’t see the sun in those moments, it still shines as bright as it ever did. It’s on the other side of that torrrential storm.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

These are the posts that sum up 12 days in my life that changed me and my family FOREVER. I hope it brings you comfort and encouragement to see how God moved in our lives during this most hurtful time, and helped me get through this struggle.

If you were encouraged by this series, please keep in touch by signing up for my email list, sharing my story with others,

In addition to writing on this blog and sharing my story of faith, I have a Masters in Family Therapy and a background as a private practice marriage therapist. I made the transition to online coaching so that I could help more people. If you are interested in reading more about what I do in coaching, please click on the pictures below!

If you need help getting through a struggle of your own, I would love the opportunity to be that help.

I also write about relationships and marriage, overcoming insecurity and fear, as well as my own personal growth struggles.

Join me on my journey! I’d love to have you along.
